Completely
Ignoring the deafening buzz around her Khushi marched through the
crowds towards Anjali and holding her wrist as firmly as she could
literally dragged her out of the chaos..amid frivolous protests by
reporters around..
a
male reporter moved to speak when khushi snapped at him..
"shame
on you"
"excuse
me? I am a reporter! This is my job!"
"really?
Well guess what? I am one too. And this is not!
That
was enough to silence him but a female voice broke the silence..
"and
who else are you? Superwoman??"
Khushi
rolled her eyes and turned to her..
"spare
the 'super'..woman,will do.."
the
sarcasm hit the mark as the colour rose on the woman's cheeks...
Khushi turned and raised her brows to Anjali who pointed at a car by
the road side. A chauffeur hopped out and literally ran towards
them...
Khushi
wondered whether her part had been played and moved to start
untangling her hands from Anjali's but the grip tightened all the more..
"please..can
you..i mean.." Anjali choked on her words..
"no
problem" Khushi nodded her head assuredly at her and they walked
towards the car together..
Khushi
spared a moment to motion to the cab driver that his job was done and
held her ears momentarily and cutely in a sorry gesture.. even he
couldn't resist a smile as he drove away..the charms of Khushi Kumari Gupta..
Who
knew what destiny had in plans for one? Khushi wondered as she spoke
reassuring words to the woman sobbing bitterly beside her, reassuring
a woman she didn't know, on an issue she had no idea of.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The
car halted outside a lavish mansion like bungalow and Khushi went all wow
inside..this lady's brother must be something!
They
got down from the car and Khushi walked alongside Anjali inside..
As
soon as they got in there was almost a crowd which rushed towards them..
"Oh
God..come inside..here...someone bring water! "
Khushi
felt lost in the chaos around her..an elderly lady held Anjali's arm
as she supported her upstairs. Servants rushed around carrying water,
taking orders..
It
had been quite some time now and she felt she'd better leave..someone
touched her shoulder from behind and she spun around..it was the same
elderly lady who had helped Anjali upstairs..
"You
accompanied her here?"
Khushi
nodded her head in approval..
"We
are so indebted to you. By the way, I am her grandmother.."
Khushi
folded her hands in respect as she gave her introduction..
"Khushi..I..I
am a-"
"NANI!"
A
shout from upstairs interrupted her..
"Oh
I'll just be back.." the woman before her said as her brows
furrowed in worry, and tears glistened in eyes and she again made her
way upstairs..
Khushi
felt one horrendously odd piece in the place...
better
leave she wondered, when a
voice interrupted her as she was moving for the door..
" 'scuse
me mam...is it Sir you wish to meet?"
"huh?"
Khushi asked confused..
"Mr
Raizada ma'am, he's back home"
"WHO'S
WHERE?" she exclaimed out loud.
the
man looked quite confused..which wasn't really his fault..
"Mr
Arnav Singh Raizada Ma'am! He's just returned this instant."
She
still tried to take it in..
"excuse
me but is this-"
"Raizada
Mansion" he finished for her..
Any
doubts of staying one more minute in the place were brushed aside
that instant upon hearing the words..no way she'd make herself face
that pile of cement once again..she was just moving for the door when
she turned her head around and caught sight of him..
he
was rushing up the stairs, two at a time, but this was not the man
she had met yesterday.. he was in his shirt , sleeves rolled up, and
his face had all the worry in the world on it...one trait which still
belonged to him was that he was literally shouting, at every soul he was in
conversation with...if he had for once glanced to his right he'd have
caught sight of her..but his gaze was fixed upon the room upstairs..
Khushi
suddenly started having coughing bouts once he left..water..she
thought..but who could she ask? Everybody looked like they were
participating in a horse race...she gave a call to one...
"excuse
me! Can I have some water please?"
"ya Ma'am sure.."
her
coughing was so severe that she decided to follow him to the kitchen
to make it quick..
Arnav
sat resting his head on the bed post , fighting fiercely with the
lump in his throat as his sister sobbed bitterly, enveloped in his
arms..
"I'll
not leave him..I promise you di..I'll kill him- I'll kill that swine
of a-"
nani
gave him a look to stop..this was not the time..he grinded his teeth
as his grip around his sister tightened some more..
"Excuse
me sir!" some ne coughed at the door..
"what??"
"sir
media is at the gates..we tried to-"
he
was interrupted as Arnav broke the embrace with his sister and
literally jumped towards him while the poor man staggered back...
"WHAT
THE HELL AM I PAYING THESE IDIOTS FOR DAMMIT? WHAT SHOULD I DO?
DANCE ON YOUR HEADS??OR SHOULD YOU CONTINUE DANCING ON MINE??"
the
servant gulped looking down on the floor as Arnav stormed past him
out of the door..he'd deal with these lunatics himself..
Anyone
who saw him right then could vouch that Hitler was back from his
grave.. or worse...those reporters were dead..
Aakash
leapt towards the storming Arnav and with immense effort made him
stop holding his shoulders..
"bhai
look-"
"Aakash
leave"
"bhai-"
"I
SAID LEMME GO!"
"bhai
of course i'd let you..but you need to control..seriously, they want
you to come out, they want you to shout at them so that they capture
it with their cameras and garner TRPs showing all kinds of rubbish on
the news.Bhai, let me handle this"
Arnav
stood staring at him..Aakash always played the water to his fire in
such situations, and handled moments like these best..Arnav knew..he
also knew that once again, his brother was right..if he couldn't go
out to them with a pistol, it was better he didn't go there at
all..else the next headline might not be very pleasant..
"fine.
Get the sense out of those damn idiots! And if-"
"then I'll call you" Aakash completed it for him.. "please bhai.let me
handle..."
Arnav
slowly nodded and Aakash heaved a relieved sigh and made his exit out
of the door..
Arnav whirled around swiftly and walked straight into the woman behind him
who was walking speedily with her face turned back, carefully making
sure he was no where in sight and who too jumped in surprise at the
impact..
"OUCH!"
"WHAT
THE!"
both
exclaimed in complete unison..
and
silence followed as Arnav Khushi stared with widened eyes at each
other...
